It takes a hike to bring you back to yourself :)
Sophie and I hiked the skogar-landmannalaugar trail and in Vatnajökull National Park. We had a tent with us and we camped along the trail.
The first part of the trip was the most challenging. Steep ascents and descents, a bit of rock climbing, sliding on snow, sandstorms and crossing icy streams. I have all my gratitude to Sophie's hand and my hiking pole!
It was hard to take photos since I was struggling on the trail ( Also, I just forgot most of the time) and plus the knowledge that I won't capture the real beauty I saw and felt.
In the evenings, I sat in my sleeping bag and read. Life is different when you're away from your world. You ease into yourself and feel the time and space differently.
There's something about Iceland anyways that could not be expressed.
From afar, this rock looked like an erected penis. We visited the penis museum in Reykjavik before hiking and I felt like I could never look at one again.
Rainbow mountain.
Sheep. Iceland's wild animals.
Vatnajökull National Park has Iceland's biggest glacier. Hiking here felt too easy. We left our backpacks at our tent and walked. Nothing will feel quite satisfying anymore :)
