Moss
We got a ride from Gothenburg all the way to Moss. The driver, Abu Zenio a nice Syrian felt so bad he couldn't drive us all the way and offered for us to stay at his place on an Island near Moss. He bought us tea and coffee and I smiling and knowing Eastern people's generosity got a chocolate bar when I mentioned how much I'd like to eat something sweet. Abu Zeino has a big family and he's been living abroad most of his life. When he found out that I speak Arabic and my dad is actually from the city he is from, I got swamped with questions. He subtly tried to ask about my sexuality, when am I going to get married and which nationality I want my husband to be. When I told him we're planing to camp, he was shocked! What if you need to go to the toilet? he exclaimed.
The time passed quickly and we crossed the boarders with this custom worker flashing a light in our faces. " Hitchhikers, eh??"
It was dark by the time Abu Zeino dropped us off. We found a camping spot behind the gas station. We walked a bit into the woods and tried to find an even ground to put up the tent. It was stuffy inside the tent but I was glad it was warm.
In the morning, we had some oatmeal and asked the gas station workers if we could leave our backpacks there to take a walk.
Really enjoyed the photos!
